You never know where job opportunities are going to present themselves. I was just sitting here in bed, relaxing after a long run and catching up on all the non-Charlie Sheen news on Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr, when someone from one of the social research groups I follow posted that they are looking for some temporary help to launch their newest research project in London. I replied and an email conversation followed where I got to speak directly to the person hiring, rather than send my CV to a big pile of others.  The timing of the job didn’t work out for me – which is too bad – but it’s still a valuable connection that I wouldn’t have made if I wasn’t being lazy after my run engaging with my social media connections.
